Aviva Mongillo, who goes by the stage name CARYS in the music scene, first started gaining attention through her content on SoundCloud. When a music producer discovered her through the platform, CARYS was recruited to work on the soundtrack for the Canadian drama series Backstage.
Being not just a talented singer but a trained actress as well, CARYS ended up being cast as “Alya Kendrick” in the TV series, which aired on The Family Channel and Disney Channel. She has since gone on to star in the films Don’t Talk To Irene (2017) and Random Acts of Violence (2019). Since 2018, she’s been portraying the role of “Juniper” on the CBC TV series Workin’ Moms.
Her song Princesses Don’t Cry, released in 2019, ended up becoming a smash-hit after it went viral on TikTok. The track currently has over 37 million views on Youtube and was used in over 1.4 million TikTok videos.
In October 2020, the rising pop star released her debut EP To Anyone Like Me which features the singer’s popular tracks No More and When A Girl.
